It is Thanksgiving day and I want to thank you for all of your support and prayers you have given me @RonLouis DESIGNs. I started this company to be a blessing and to help mom and pop retailors with their visual merchandising (VM) needs. You could not afford a full time VM team, but you trusted me to help you as your consultant.
I thank you for trusting me to help you on your interior design vision for your homes and offices.
I want to thank my star couple for entrusting me with their wedding design.
I am also grateful for my many vendors for their partnership; you continue to help me bring my clients dreams to pass.
Last but no least, I want to say thank you to all of my friends on social media; you continue to encourage and help me make my dreams come true.
Thank you again.
Happy
Thanksgiving to all...
Ron
In every interior space there should be a focal point. Focal points anchor the space and bring interest to a space. It is the cornerstone to building a beautiful interior. An art piece, fire place, entertainment center, some architectural unique detail, or just a view. all can be used as a focal point in your design. So give your scattered living space a focal point; and you are on your way to great design.
In my travels, I have been in awe of natures beauty. The Grand Canyon, Oregon Coastline, the wonderful White Mountains, or the brilliant Island of Barbados, to name a few of the places I have had the chance to visit. These places and so much more in nature have all influenced my use of colors. For example the color of a green leaf against the beige sand and wet drifted wood.
Color combinations can be seen on the coat of an animal or the scales of a fish or the skin of a frog or snake.
Color queues can be seen as close as your backyard, outside your window or neighborhood park.
When you are seeking for an impactful color scheme for your next design project, consult nature. She has all the queues you need.
It is the beginning of the holiday season. The hustle and bustle of the season can lead to some stressful moments. To take some stress out of this season, give your holiday a theme.
Creating a theme helps you stay focus. Shopping and designing your home for the season will be accomplished with ease.
First, select your theme: whimsical, woodland, locomotive, family, bling, ect.
Second, pick your color scheme. One primary and two secondary colors; colors that complement one another.
Third, purchase your items; wraps and bows; tree and wreaths; lighting and ornaments. Make a list of several retailers that speak to your style. Organize your items, new and old into groupings.
Last, execute your holiday design. Place items in areas that are visible to you and your guess, making every angle of the space a holiday spectacle.
Today I had the opportunity to give another business owner some visual merchandising advise. He was appreciative of the insight into how some basic vm tips could benefit his business and how it could increase his customer traffic.
Lighting to a retail space is just as important as lighting to a residential space.
lighting should be thought of in three parts; overall, task, and accent.
Overall: Simple lighting that lights up the space. Seeing the overall space as a whole.
Task: This lighting gives specific light to complete task in the space; reading, writing, fixing, needing specific light to complete a specific task to be accomplished in an area within the space.
Accent: Use this light to highlight specific merchandise, art, architectural design, etc. This is usually accomplished by using a form of spot lighting or track lighting.
Incorporate these three elements of lighting and you will create an intriguing space.
